    Job Description: Foreman – Fence

    Fence Foreman will be responsible for directing a small group of laborers (3-4) in the field.

    Job Responsibilities:

    1. Works closely with the Superintendent to understand all aspects of the project, issues and time frames.
    2. Will supervise a team to complete specific fencing jobs (ALL TYPES) providing directions to workers on the order of tasks to be performed.
    3. Ensure all materials and equipment is on the truck BEFORE leaving the yard.
    4. Inspect work performed by employees and provide constructive feedback.
    5. Will be responsible for all equipment and materials, including items such as a work truck and skid steer.
    6. Constant communication with the Superintendent to monitor progress.
    7. Must track and maintain the inventory of supplies and materials to guard ensure that vital materials are ordered and delivered in a timely manner to meet production schedule.
    8. Provide necessary input in project planning as requested.
    9. Will be responsible for training for new hires.

    Job Tasks-  Laborer

    • Establish the location for a fence, and gather information needed to ensure that there are no electric cables or water lines in the area.
      • -Determine appropriate locations for operations or installations.
    • Align posts, using lines or by sighting, and verify vertical alignment of posts, using plumb bobs or spirit levels.
      • -Verify alignment of structures or equipment.
      • -Position structural components.
    • Measure and lay out fence lines and mark posthole positions, following instructions, drawings, or specifications.
      • -Measure work site dimensions.
      • -Mark reference points on construction materials.
    • Dig postholes, using spades, posthole diggers, power-driven augers or Hydro-digger.
    • Set metal or wooden posts in upright positions in postholes.
      • -Position structural components.
    • Mix and pour concrete around bases of posts, or tamp soil into postholes to embed posts.
      • -Securely set posts
    • Secure top and bottom rails to fence posts, or insert them in slots on posts.
    • Stretch wire, wire mesh, or chain link fencing between posts, and attach fencing to frames.
      • -Install fencing or other barriers.
      • -Install metal structural components.
      • -Assemble gates, and fasten gates into position, using hand tools.
    • Attach rails or tension wire along bottoms of posts to form fencing frames.
